Most of our reports about the H1N1 flu shot clinics have been at health departments, schools and other public locations, but you might be surprised to hear where some of the shots are going. A spokesman for the Montana Department of Corrections says if swine flu gets into the prison population, it could be harmful to everyone.
So, the vaccine will go to pregnant women and juveniles behind bars. They fall under the CDC's high risk category. Several prison workers will also receive the vaccine, including health care workers, parents with children under 6 months and pregnant women. By the way, two pregnant women are currently in the state prison system.
The Montana prison system will receive 290 doses of the vaccine. So far, 30 have been administered.
